NID 2027 Entrance Exam — Complete Overview
The NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) for 2027 has a revised pattern. DAT Prelims is now a qualifying round only — its marks will NOT be carried forward to the final merit list. Final selection is based entirely on DAT Mains.

Pen-and-paper test. Used only for shortlisting candidates for Mains. Marks will NOT be added to final merit.

DAT Mains (Final Selection)
Studio Test (60%) + In-Person Sensitivity Test (40%). This is the FINAL deciding factor for admission.

Prelims marks no longer count towards final merit. Focus your preparation on Mains (Studio Test & In-Person Sensitivity Test) — that's where selection happens.
DAT Prelims — New Pattern (2027)
From 2026, the Prelims exam has become 100% drawing and design aptitude based. The old GAT (General Ability Test) section — which included Maths, English, Reasoning, and GK — has been completely removed.
