NIFT 2026 Eligibility
B.Des / B.F.TechNIFT offers admission to B.Des and B.F.Tech programmes through the NIFT Entrance Exam. Here is the complete eligibility criteria for UG programmes.
B.Des (Bachelor of Design) — 4 Years
Age Limit
Maximum 24 years as on 1 August 2026 (5 years relaxation for SC/ST/PwD)
Qualification
10+2 from any recognized board (any stream)
Minimum Marks
No minimum percentage required
Subjects
Any stream (Science, Commerce, Arts)

B.F.Tech (Bachelor of Fashion Technology) — 4 Years

🌍 Foreign Nationals
5 seats per programme for Foreign Nationals/NRI/SAARC/OCI/PIO candidates. They do not need to appear for NIFT entrance exam — admission is through SAT/GMAT/GRE scores.

Can I apply for NIFT after 12th?
Yes! After 12th, you can apply for B.Des or B.F.Tech. The entrance exam is mandatory.
Can Commerce stream students apply for NIFT?
Yes, for B.Des any stream is valid. For B.F.Tech, PCM is mandatory.
Does low percentage in 12th affect admission?
NIFT B.Des has no minimum percentage requirement. UCEED requires 75% for IIT admission.
What is the age limit?
NIFT: maximum 24 years. UCEED: born on/after 1 Oct 2001 (General). NID and CEED: no age limit.
Can I apply in a drop year?
Yes, drop year is allowed. UCEED allows maximum 2 consecutive attempts.
